Weekly Update

So another week has gone by and the summer draws further away and the flat season really is coming to a close sadly.

As for work spent most of last week fiddling around with the turkeys, de beaking them and setting up the automatice feeders, also had to get up at 5am friday morning to go to marsh to wean the lambs and bring them back home to fatten up, long while since had to get up at that time!
As for this week well it could be an entertaining one with the boss decided to re-plough most of what i have alreayd ploughed simply because its got so dry we cant get a seed bed so beans are being ploughed in bit crazy if you ask me and complete waste of fuel etc. but its and easy job for me and it what he wants i guess and it pays the bills!

As for the horse racing been a tough week, reasonably holding level on the all weather with having a cracking day on friday. The turf has turned into a bit of a nightmare with all sorts of funny results and un predictable ground conditions.
So I have started to look at the NH scene for my first serious scene over the sticks and things are not going to bad I am still hoping to get excited about it like I do the flat so we shall see of course the AW scene will be my main interest over winter months but the jumps gives me other area to look at!

Anyway have a good week

Larger than normal update

Apologies for the lack of updates recently I have just been so busy with work aswell as quite a lot of racing again!

Mainly just been ploughing and cultivating and continueing to pray for rain its getting bad now we have lambs dropping like flies because of the lack of food available as much as we try to supplement them we cant give them 100% of their diet in the situations we have, along with that our bull has got rather a sore dick after falling off a cow during sexy time and has knocked it and swelled up and he cant get it to go back in so we had to have a rather gorgeous fresh out of uni vet come and clean him up and hopefully swelling will go down and he will be ok! Rather him than me!

As for racing, its been a fantastic week of racing with some classy races at newmarket all be it with disappointing small fields, then the cambridgeshire yesterday again we failed to find the winner! Then to day the Arc and what an amazing horse any normal horse we would have all been laying him at the start not settling pulling hard and boxed in everything looked wrong but yet when asked to stretch on and take the race he did it with ease!

As for my personal betting week it hasnt been a too bad one, again struggled with saturdays racing something I need to look at in the last couple of weeks of the season, also very little return on the turf especially betting on some hot favs who then go and get turned over normally in stakes and listed affairs and just more proof handicaps are more my forte, all weather is going extremely well except again in claimers and sellers again really should stick to handicaps only!

Anyway enjoy the last couple of weeks of the season, will prob post again next weekend its easier to do a weekly review at the moment while so busy!

Good Luck
Chris
